BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota attorney general’s consumer protection division has obtained a $5,650 civil judgment against a LaMoure man and his company for violating consumer fraud and contractor licensing laws.
State officials sued Matt Lano and Dakota Pole Buildings, saying Lano had taken numerous advance payments from people in Barnes, Burleigh, Stutsman and McLean counties over the past three years for buildings that were never completed. Neither Lano nor the company had a contractor’s license.
The court judgment bans Lano and his company from working as a contractor for at least three years.
Several people also have obtained money judgments against Lano.
Lano didn’t respond to a message seeking comment left on a home telephone listing for him. A business listing couldn’t be found.
