“Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness was forced to defend himself on Twitter this week amid backlash for urging fellow Democrats to “compromise” on far-left policies like free health care for all.

Mr. Van Ness sparked a firestorm of comments Wednesday after he argued that putting forth “center left candidates” in the midterm elections would be the Democratic Party’s best hope for taking back Congress.

Mr. Van Ness defended himself against accusations of “left punching” and told his critics to take a hike.

Mr. Van Ness then fueled the leftist backlash by claiming not all Republicans are racist.

The “Queer Eye” co-host also made a point to assure his fans that he still loathes President Trump.
